The backbone of PIC development, MPLAB IDE utilises the lowest form of the PIC micro controller language, assembly. While the command set may appear limited, all higher programming languages actually compile down to this level. With this in mind, assembly is just as powerful as any other programming language, however the knowledge required to perform simple tasks may prove encumbering for some.
